I really delved into my textile-obsessed roots when designing this piece. Indian cotton chambray was resist-tied and then dipped in bleach to create a handmade pattern. After sewing, the garment is dipped in a blue dye wash to acheive the perfect shade. Pants have elastic smocking at shorts, a tiny ruffle at the waist, and flared flounces on the legs. Inspired by the traditional sharara or gharara pant from South Asia, which is most typically worn with a kurta top.
