Cochineal Dyed Silk Slip Dress
A collaboration between abacaxi and cult silks brand SVNR, this dress was naturally dyed in Oaxaca, Mexico using traditional methods of dyeing with cochineal. Cochineal is an insect that lives on the plant; it has been used for generations to dye colors from purples, fuchsia, pinks, crimson, reds, to oranges.
The two-tone violet design was achieved through tying and then carefully dyeing each side with two different natural dye processes.
